Do you have to soak or steam the oats before rolling them?

No, you don’t! We just roll ours fresh.

Thanks for sharing! I’ve recently begun rolling oats with the same Komo flaker as you and have really enjoyed it!

I was wondering, do you wash your oat groats before rolling? I haven’t found any advice on this, so I’ve been rinsing them and letting them air dry for a day in a strainer before rolling, just wondering whether I’m being paranoid or not doing enough. Thanks!

That’s great! I love the nutty flavor home rolled oats carry. However, I’ve never heard of anyone rinsing oats or any other type of grain/seed before using. Interesting idea, but I don’t think it’s necessary if the grains have been properly hulled and handled.
