I remember the first time I stumbled upon her website. My man and I had just moved 1,200 km down through the province for the sake of raising more of our own food. And me? I was browsing the internet, researching the different ways to preserve our home raised food!
On her site, she was offering a free, food preserving resource. Just what I wanted! So I signed up to get it via email. After doing a bit more browsing, I saw she had a podcast. Curiosity got the best of me and even though we had limited internet, I listened in. And I found myself so captivated, I’ve been listening ever since!
About the Pioneering Today Podcast
Why did this woman’s blog and podcast resonate with me so well? First of all, she had similar faith beliefs and openly shared about these things. On her podcast, she also talked about all the things I was starting to do for health’s sake: raising and preserving food, creating a natural home and getting back to traditional life skills.
What’s not to love about that?!
Doing a Guest Interview
When I released my new, online book about creating fermented fruit vinegar, I did what bloggers are supposed to do: you contact other, like-minded bloggers and offer them opportunity to become affiliated with your new product. I also offered to do guest posts and yes, to share on podcasts!
Now many of the people I contacted weren’t interested for reasons of their own. But a few were, and Melissa was among them! As a result, I went on her podcast and shared all about the process of creating fermented fruit vinegar from just 1 ingredient!
I was so nervous, it wasn’t even funny! Of course, there are always things you wish you’d remembered to say or had done differently. But somehow, I managed to pull it off. Seeing that she actually published the interview, I must not have done too bad!
In the interview, I walk you through the basics of making vinegar from fermented fruit. Be sure to head on over to melissaknorris.com and listen in as I try to keep my wits together and present the information in a comprehensible, intelligent manner!
My New Book
If you are interested in fermented foods, in supporting gut health and creating a healthier family, I highly recommend you check out my new book! Not only do I walk you through the fermenting process, but I also give you some of my favorite ways to use fruit vinegar in the home.
You can create refreshing, summer drinks with it. Make dips and condiments. Create herbal infused vinegar for natural home remedies. And there are numerous ways to use it in your cooking and baking!
Fermenting is a wonderful skill and a wonderful food product to have! And vinegar is one of the easiest things to ferment. On my IG account, I just shared a video about making strawberry vinegar from fresh, sun-ripened or frozen strawberries. You can catch it here.
Enjoy!
